Wilson, David Oliver

He was born at Hatcham, the son of James Andrew and Emma Elizabeth Wilson, of 14 Howard Road, Bromley, Kent. On leaving school he joined the staff of the London, City & Midland Bank. He enlisted in 1/14th (County of London) Battalion, London Regiment – the London Scottish – and after some months with them in France, obtained a commission. He was gazetted as a 2nd Lieutenant with effect from July 30th 1915, and, as was usual in such cases, he transferred Battalions, moving to 1/1st Battalion (Royal Fusiliers).
