Biography:

James Ferguson was born 29 May 1898, the son of J. Ferguson of Johannesburg.

He came to Winchester College in January 1913 from  Mr Johns' school at  Winton House. He was in K House, Kingsgate House, under Revd Beloe. We know little about his time at Winchester.

James left school in the summer of 1916 and gained a commission in the RAF. He was accidentally killed whilst flying at Catterick in Yorkshire on 12 March 1917 and is buried in grave 16 in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission section of High Wycombe Cemetery.
